Board Members agree to serve a three-year term and are actively engaged in fundraising, promoting the organization and serving on at least one sub-committee.

Outreach volunteers may also assist HAVEN by distributing outreach materials to various businesses, hospitals and other agencies in Strafford and Rockingham Counties.
As a front desk volunteer you will help greet guests and walk-in clients in our reception area at our Portsmouth office and provide support for a range of office tasks and projects. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the agency’s operations and to gain valuable administrative experience.
AVAP is part of AmeriCorps, a national service program that offers opportunities to Americans who are interested in making a substantial commitment to serve their country through national service. AVAP Members placed with crisis centers will become advocates who support victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking.
As a Volunteer Educator you will be working directly with elementary students in Southeastern New Hampshire. The program you will present with a staff educator will be focused on personal body safety. A minimum of 1 calendar year commitment is required to be a Volunteer Educator with 4-6 full school days per month to start.
As a volunteer advocate you will serve as a confidential source of support and information for those affected by sexual and domestic violence through our 24-hour hotline. In addition, advocates accompany survivors to the hospital directly after an assault has occurred or to the police station to report a crime.
