General cleaning of interior space (approx. 1.5 hours per week)
Trucks and vans are recommended. Pickup at Walmart, drop off at the Pantry.
Many volunteers work in private homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout eastern Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire and York County, Maine as well as at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA. Others donate their time and talent helping in the administrative offices, on special projects or assist at fundraising events.
If you can spare 2 to 12 weeks, Lend a hand International has volunteer placements with locally-led, community-based initiatives in south central Uganda. The organizations we work with provide primary education, community empowerment, public health services, and modern agriculture techniques in their own communities. They support real people – improving their lives, on their terms.
We ask in-person volunteers to commit to at least three hours per week. Pick up groceries for our congregate living facilities. The person will need to first pick up a credit card in Jamaica Plain then drive to Costco and back to Jamaica Plain to drop off groceries.
We have missed our volunteers so any sort of games or just general companionship is welcome. You could do a walk through the park, play games, perform your talent, or do arts and crafts. The possibilities are endless!
Assist our families during the holidays or to help new residents get settled in their home.
