Our mission

Our mission is to provide youth and families with academic support, life skills training, and recreational opportunities. The Dover Housing Authority (DHA) provides 184 units of safe, affordable housing for income-eligible families living in Dover.

Opportunities

Credit Counseling/Budgeting

Develop a financial management program for students and adults. Give a mini-lesson in basic money management skills (i.e. balancing a budget, building credit, interest rates, food purchasing, real estate, etc.).

Job Coaches/Career Counselors

Assist our job coaches by helping students develop interview skills and a sense of professionalism, providing or locating job shadowing opportunities for high school students, assisting with resume writing, helping with college research and/or college application process, or providing SAT coaching.

Open Gym/Teen Open Gym Coordinator

Center Maintenance Volunteers

The Seymour Osman Community Center and Youth Safe Haven (SOCC) is a private non-profit youth safe haven / police mini-station that is affiliated with the Dover Housing Authority. The SOCC aims to help children graduate from high school with a good work ethic, strong conflict resolution skills, clear goals for a better future, and the confidence that they can achieve their goals.
