Courthouse Docent

Lead a Moakley Courthouse Tour to provide students and members of the public with the opportunity to learn about its role and history in the justice system, and its value as a vibrant public space for art, architecture and parks.

Guest Speaker

Discovering Justice is looking for volunteers from the legal, educational and advocacy communities to become guest speakers at one of our weekly sessions. Guest Speakers will give a short presentation on their area of expertise, and answer student questions about that week’s topic in a small group format.

Field Trip Volunteer

Engage with K-8 students and support their learning about the justice system through a mock trial in a Federal courtroom. Volunteers provide students with opportunities to practice democracy and vital skills in building and presenting arguments.

Legal Mentor

Mentor middle school students as they delve deeper into our nation’s judicial system through our Mock Trial and Mock Appellate programs. Work with students on a weekly basis throughout a Fall and/or Spring Semester.

We prepare young people to value the justice system, realize the power of their own voices, and embrace civic responsibility by connecting classrooms and courtrooms. Discovering Justice offers exciting classroom-based and courtroom-based experiences for students. Our programs are designed to fit a range of learning goals and schedules. Discovering Justice places a special emphasis on the needs of children, particularly those from underserved communities.
