Volunteering in the classroom is very interactive with the children – volunteers often read with the children, help with arts & crafts activities, supervise children at the playground, and participate in classroom activities. In addition, in our School-Age Program, volunteers will come in and help provide homework assistance as well as participate in activities with our school-age children. We also have opportunities for skilled-based volunteering. To increase our capacity to meet growing challenges, Ellis seeks a variety of skills and expertise that may not be currently available internally. We welcome those with professional expertise in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Web Design, Database Management and other fields.

Ellis is committed to providing high quality early learning opportunities in addition to out of school time programs in a socio-economically, racially, and culturally diverse environment. In our Early Education Center, we have children ages 2 months to 5 years, and they are split up into infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. In our School-Age program we have children ages 5 years to 13 years.
