Opportunities

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

​​Just-A-Start Corporation, a Cambridge-based nonprofit, is seeking volunteers to assist as tax return preparers at its Tax Assistance Clinic, part of the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
Volunteer Tax Preparers work with the clinic manager to prepare and review returns for clients. Tax Preparers must complete training on preparing basic income tax return before volunteering, though this training is provided. No experience is necessary or expected. Experienced preparers are welcome. ​Volunteers are expected to contribute two (2) hours per week to the clinic.

Just-A-Start’s Young Professionals Group

The group consists of young professional volunteer members dedicated to JAS’s mission to build the housing security and economic stability of low-to-moderate-income people in Cambridge and nearby communities. Members will have the opportunity to:Volunteer within the organization, Assist with planning, promoting and volunteering at JAS events, Make an impact on the Cambridge community, Network with other young professionals in abroad range of industries, and develop and refine skills through volunteer efforts.
