Our mission

On Belay builds community among youth who have or have had a family member with cancer using adventure based programs that encourage participants to uncover their inner resilience.

Marketing/Referral Development

We need people who are on fire for On Belay and what it can do in the lives of children and want everyone to know. A poster here, a post card there, and informative conversations everywhere.

Fundraising

One of the amazing things about On Belay is that all our programs are free. We accomplish this through the generous giving of others. It takes outreach, grant writing, events, newsletters, thank you cards, and so much more. If you have a knack for fundraising and expressing gratitude then this is the opportunity for you.

Program Facilitator

During our rock gym programs we utilize Program Facilitators to create the adventure-based framework that is vital for reaching our goals. You will take the lead role in creating supportive environments, establishing the framework of growth, and fostering relationships within a group. You must have experience in adventure based programs, or attending numerous On Belay programs.

Administration

An On Belay program isn’t the only fun place to volunteer. We could always use a helping hand to assist us with all the behind the scenes tasks it takes to make On Belay the amazing organization it is.

Grub Club

The grub club is simple: pick up the food before the program, set up lunch during the program, and serve it to all the awesome kids. It may seem like a small task but lunch is a vital part of the program.

Summer Program Volunteer

This opportunity only takes place for the programs during the months of May through August. You will play a vital part in creating positive energy, supporting a child, establishing joy, and encouraging youth to overcome challenges. You can volunteer at one or all the programs.

Program Assistant

During a program there is a lot of “behind the scenes” things going on. The Things are being torn down, set-up, and managed. Program Assistant works directly alongside the Program Director to make sure all those things happen.

About us

On Belay is an adventure program that utilizes activities such as Indoor Climbing and Challenge Courses to give participants a chance to connect with others who are facing the challenge of a family member’s diagnosis of cancer. Everyday children learn that someone they love has cancer. On Belay is here for these kids. Children who are in a family threatened by cancer are at risk. They are at risk socially, developmentally, academically, and emotionally. With On Belay, children know they are not alone and they have permission to have fun.
