Our mission	To alleviate food insecurity in Newton by providing supplemental food and personal care products to community members in need, serving our clients with dignity, compassion and respect.

Opportunities	Saturday Kids’ Snack Bags Volunteer The snack bags are filled by a small number of volunteers on a Saturday morning, once a month, working in two shifts inside the pantry. Hours: 9–10:30am and 10:45–12:15pm One-time, Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Physical, Indoor On-site Weekends Monday Morning Volunteer Volunteers work with a small team to unload 7,000 pounds of food from our truck. Heavy lifting is required in this role. One-time, Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10), Groups (10+) Physical, Indoor, Outdoor On-site Weekdays Wednesday Afternoon Volunteer Volunteers help clients with their bimonthly shopping inside the Newton Food Pantry. Tasks include greeting clients, managing flow in the waiting areas and in the pantry, assisting clients with bagging their groceries, and loading groceries into cars once clients are finished shopping. Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, and Portuguese speaking volunteers are an added bonus to our clients! One-time, Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Physical, Indoor On-site Weekdays Wednesday Morning Volunteer/Driver Drivers pick up bags at the Newton Food Pantry and drive to Newton housing facilities to make contactless deliveries.Volunteers must have their own car and be able to lift 30-pound bags. One-time, Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Physical, Indoor, Outdoor On-site Weekdays Home Delivery Long-term bimonthly commitment to help deliver groceries to medically homebound clients. Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals Physical, Indoor, Outdoor On-site Weekdays, Weekends Tuesday Pre-Bagging Volunteer  Volunteers bag nonperishable food and personal care products inside the Newton Food Pantry. One-time, Occasional, Weekly, Monthly Teens, Adults Individuals, Groups (2-10) Physical, Indoor On-site Weekdays Wednesday Morning Setup Volunteers help inside the Newton Food Pantry with set up and bagging for bulk delivery pickups. About us	Founded in 1983 and run solely by volunteers, the Newton Food Pantry is the oldest and largest food pantry in the city. For over 35 years the Newton Food Pantry’s committed volunteers have provided food to residents of our city who experience food insecurity.
