How you help | Volunteers are the heart and life force of Gifford Cat Shelter, helping us provide care 365 days a year. Volunteers enable us to expand our reach, impact more cats, and in turn – save more lives. |

About us | The Gifford Shelter is a cageless, no-kill facility founded in 1884 through the collaboration of philanthropist Ellen Gifford and prominent Bostonian Nathan Appleton. At Gifford, cats are free to roam and play. They nap in sunny windows, get plenty of exercise, and enjoy tons of love and attention while they wait for their forever homes. A no-kill shelter, Gifford believes that all cats should have a chance to live their lives free of pain and fear. |
