How you help Project Citizenship’s dedicated full-time staff, pro bono legal partners and expansive volunteer force of nearly 1,000 trained volunteers have made it possible to help nearly 6,000 immigrants apply for U.S. citizenship with a 95% success rate.
About us Since launching in 2014, Project Citizenship has specialized in helping permanent residents in Massachusetts and beyond overcome barriers to U.S. citizenship. Each year, thousands of Massachusetts residents eligible to become citizens never apply. The need for free, professional legal services to guide people through the citizenship process is evident and the demand has grown significantly, especially since 2016. Citizenship confers important rights, including eligibility for certain federal jobs, federal grants and scholarships, and other federal public benefits. But most importantly, citizenship helps build stronger, more united communities by encouraging civic participation, engagement, and a more representational government.
