Counselor-in-Training Program (CIT)

Our CIT program is a unique volunteer opportunity for Seacoast Science Center member teens (13-17) to acquire leadership and informal teaching skills while learning about the marine environment in a camp setting. CIT’s assist our camp counselors to provide a safe, fun, and meaningful educational experience for our campers. Prospective CIT’s are interviewed to ensure that the program is a good fit and they are required to participate in training.

How you helpThe Center was built on a strong foundation of volunteerism and the tradition continues. As teachers and ambassadors, volunteers play an essential role in advancing the Center’s mission. Volunteers engage, inspire, and have a blast!
About usThe Seacoast Science Center is a non-profit marine science education organization located within Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, New Hampshire. Our live animal exhibits feature the amazing creatures that live in the rapidly changing Gulf of Maine ecosystem. Our engaging programs make learning about the ocean fun for everyone, from pre-K to senior rediscovery. Our hands-on science exhibits motivate families to become caretakers of our Blue Planet. We operate the Seacoast Science Center Marine Mammal Rescue program, responding to marine mammals along the coast of New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
