Medical Transportation Volunteer

SeniorCare’s Volunteer Medical Transportation Program transports clients to local and out-of-town medical appointments. Transportation is available to self-mobile clients, age 60+ residing in the nine communities within SeniorCare’s jurisdiction.

Meals on Wheels Drivers

SeniorCare Inc. “Meals on Wheels” program is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver noon time meals to homebound seniors throughout the North Shore area. Anyone interested in volunteering one or more mornings a week will be greatly appreciated. Meals on Wheels drivers pick up fully prepared and packaged hot meals on the morning of each delivery.

Long Term Care Ombudsmen

Ombudsmen are trained volunteers with whom residents of long-term care facilities, or their families, can speak confidentially about matters of concern. Residents can discuss their quality of care, conflicts with staff, financial matters, food preferences, facility policies, and other issues. Ombudsmen advocate on behalf of residents and their families, mediate solutions to various problems, and monitor care and conditions in facilities.

Money Management Volunteer

The Massachusetts Money Management Program is a free service that assists low-income elders who have difficulty writing checks, balancing their checkbooks and managing their money. The program helps those who might be at risk of losing their independence due to their inability to pay basic rent, food and utility bills on time.

About usSeniorCare Inc. is a non-profit, multi-faceted organization that provides a one-stop portal for information and services to elders and adults with disabilities on the Greater North Shore and Cape Ann. SeniorCare provides important services such as homecare, protective services, transportation, nursing home ombudsmen, money management, benefits specialist, Medicare & Medicaid insurance counseling, legal, caregiver support, nutrition, and preventative health services. In addition, SeniorCare coordinates the Meals on Wheels program, feeding over 500 frail, homebound seniors each week, and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), placing more than 400 volunteers in local businesses and agencies each year.
