Ways to help | STEM Program MentorSupport and work with kids in a number of different STEM offerings including Robotics and Coding.Fitness and Nutrition VolunteerEngage youth during lessons and assist staff in the running of programs.Math BuddyPractice math skills in this one-on-one program that aims to help club members in need of extra math support.Meal Preparation in the Live in Motion CafeWork alongside our professional chef to prepare more than 300 nutritious meals from scratch, which are served free of charge to West End House youth each day.Mini-Makeovers (Seasonal)Transform a room or space in the West End House, lending much-needed manpower to brighten a space or clean the facility. These experiences are offered on a limited basis and are often contingent upon weather.Reading BuddyRead aloud and complete a provided lesson plan in this one-on-one program that aims to help club members in need of extra reading support.Art ProjectsCreate a collaborative piece with youth, led by our Visual Arts Coordinator, that will be displayed at the West End House (or your office!).Music Clubhouse VolunteerProvide instrumental and vocal instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.Academic SupportHelp more than 200 youth in elementary school, middle school and high school complete their homework or lend an extra hand in an interactive science or literacy program.Academic TutorSupport a high school student in a specific subject area while forming a relationship and providing general academic guidance.Professional Development Opportunities for TeensShare your professional experiences with West End House teens, guiding youth through mock interviews, resume creation, job shadow days, and more. These corporate volunteer experiences can take place at the West End House or at your office.Visual Arts VolunteerAssist in the running of a number of different visual arts offerings, including ceramics, painting, art & science, and printmaking.Fitness ProgramsGet kids moving in a variety of fitness activities such as obstacle courses, dance, basketball, kickball, four square, and more. |
