Springwell to Remain Fully Operational Through the Duration of This Crisis

Governor Baker issued an emergency order requiring all businesses and organizations that do not provide “COVID-19 Essential Services” to close their physical workplaces and facilities to workers, customers and the public as of Tuesday, March 24th at noon until Tuesday, April 7th at noon. The state also issued a “stay at home” advisory outlining self-isolation and social distancing protocols. Residents are advised to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel and other unnecessary activities during this two-week time period. Springwell, because of the work we do to support older adults and the disabled, is classified as an “Essential Service” and will remain fully operational through the duration of this crisis unless otherwise directed. At this time, maintaining our Home Delivered Meals program is both a priority and a challenge in the face of staffing shortages, and potential supply issues. We are putting emergency staffing in place to deliver meals while we explore other options going forward.

We are actively recruiting volunteer drivers to fill the gap in staffing that we are experiencing. Learn more here. If you are interested, email [email protected]. Springwell is still accepting new referrals for older adults in need of in-home services. Lastly, over the past several days, Springwell has seen an outpouring of support from the community. Many have asked how they can help us through this time.
