Time to GET OUTSIDE! – ALL Buzzards Bay Coalition reserves are open.

Buzzards Bay Coalition
All Buzzards Bay Coalition reserves are open to the public. The trails and open spaces on our properties serve as important outlets for relaxation, refreshment, and exercise. In fact, these reserves may be more needed than ever during this particularly stressful time. You can find information about these places and many others managed by partner land trust organizations at DiscoverBuzzardsBay.org.

Check out these Coalition-owned and managed properties:

  • Acushnet River Reserve: The Sawmill, Hamlin Crossing, LaPalme Farm, and Keating Woods
  • Mattapoisett River Reserve: The Bogs, Tripps Mill, Tinkhamtown Woodlands, and New Boston Trail
  • Nasketucket Bay Reserve: Shaw Farm Trail, Carvalho Farm

When visiting reserves or other outdoor spaces, please follow appropriate Covid-19 social distancing guidelines to protect yourself and others, including maintaining at least six feet of separation between yourself and any other visitors. No group gatherings of any kind are allowed.

All offices are CLOSED

— The Coalition’s offices and facilities are closed, but staff are working remotely and can be reached by phone or email.

— All scheduled events through April have been canceled to limit the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission.

— The Richard C. Wheeler Bay Learning Center located in our downtown New Bedford headquarters will be closed to the public until further notice.

The Coalition will continue to monitor the situation closely and may take additional measures in following the guidance and recommendations provided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
