Trails Closed to Travel

AMC is committed to supporting the evolving national effort to control the spread of COVID-19, and so we encourage and recommend limiting your time outdoors to brief, local outings and backyard adventures, always maintaining compliance with state and Federal stay-at-home guidance.

In alignment with current federal, state, and local guidance for physical distancing and to ensure health and safety of employees, visitors and volunteers, the White Mountain National Forest is shutting down several high use trailheads, day-use areas, and dispersed recreation facilities until further notice. While the White Mountain National Forest remains open, we are reminding the public to please recreate responsibly. New Hampshire has a Stay Safe at Home order in place and has asked the public to recreate locally.

In addition, the east side of Mount Washington, including Gulf of Slides, Tuckerman’s Ravine, Huntington Ravine, and all trails in between is closed to all travel, including walking, hiking, skiing, riding, and climbing. All facilities in AMC’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center, including the parking lot, are also closed.
