On the weekends, adult volunteers answer the phone, do activities with children, and are a welcoming presence for our guests. During the week, we often seek assistance in the office with mailings, covering the phones, or administrative projects. Teens are welcome with an adult over 18.

If one of your teens enjoys babysitting, you can volunteer to babysit together while our parents participate in workshops, meetings, or special events at the Day Center.

Like to cook? You can prepare a meal at home with your family or friends to deliver to a host congregation. If you’d like to meet our families, we invite volunteers to stay for dinner and share the evening with our guests and their children.

Morning and afternoon shifts available Monday through Friday. 2-3 volunteers work at a time, wearing masks and gloves. Youth and family shifts are also available. Volunteers pack bags at our Warehouse space.

Anyone can volunteer to help. You will get assignments and training that fit with your experience and capabilities. From skilled tradespeople – carpenters, plumbers, electricians, roofers, and others – to the “weekend warriors” who love to work with their hands and energetic novices – all are welcome to join us and get the immense satisfaction…

Your group can make and deliver cards during the holidays or any time to let them know you are thinking of them.

If you, your family, or your organization would like to raise funds, collect clothes, or directly volunteer with the Taskforce, there Is nothing stopping you.

We are now seeking new volunteers who are able to join us for at least one shift, once a month, for a minimum of three months. Most jobs include packing/lifting/moving bags or boxes that weight 15 pounds (or more) and walking.

There are many ways to get involved: Help organize food at the pantry, pick up food at drop off points, set-up bags and help distribute on Mondays, run a “Food Drive” (please keep us informed if you are having one), student community service, help raise funds.

Work with other volunteers to prepare food bags for the upcoming shopping day, and may require some lifting for up to 45 pounds.
